Greenery in Singapore — an experience to remember

Singapore is known for its abundant natural beauty that includes several parks with lush greenery around. Adorned with large varieties of flora and fauna, these Singaporean parks and gardens attract a huge number of visitors. Many of these parks are not amazing fun-spots but also popular sightseeing destinations. So when you come to Singapore, do not miss a private tété-a- tété with nature!!

THE SINGAPORE BOTANIC GARDEN
Located in the middle of the city, this 147-year old Botanic Garden is spread over 52 hectares of land. This scenic park is really loved by all tourists as they can enjoy and relax amidst the hectic Singaporean city life. The garden showcases the most spectacular tropical flora with a collection of more than 10,000 types of plants including the region’s most significant living collection of documented cycads, gingers, orchids and palms.

EAST COAST PARK
There is a park in Singapore where you see a number of anglers, cyclists and joggers that is the famous East Coast Park. This large family fun-site is located off the East Coast Parkway along a beautiful beach and thus makes a good seaside haunt for health fanatics. The park is also the perfect place for organizing barbeque and picnic for family and friends. It provides indoor sports facilities also including bowling alley, golf driving range, squash and tennis courts.

THE JURONG BIRD PARK
Since the park is situated on the Jurong Hill and houses a large variety of Southeast Asian birds, it is named as the Jurong Bird Park. The biggest attraction of this park is that it the largest walk-in aviary of the world.

CHINESE GARDEN
Walk into the Chinese Garden and you feel like coming in contact with the northern Chinese imperial style of architecture. Built in 1975, this garden was designed by Prof Yuen-chen Yu, a well-known architect from Taiwan. What a way to feel as if being in ancient China!

THE HAW PAR VILLA is just another place that houses many statues belonging to the Chinese mythology. Har Par Villa is also known as the Tiger Balm Gardens.

HSBC TREETOP WALK
Located inside the Central Catchment Nature Reserve, HSBC TreeTop Walk is also known as MacRitchie Reservoir Park. Actually it is a freestanding suspension bridge that connects MacRitchie’s two highest points. Visit to this bridge is an exciting experience as from here you can see the diverse community of plants and animals of the forest.

FORT CANNING PARK
Once belonged to the Malaya kings, Fort Canning Park is one of the oldest worth seeing parks of Singapore which covers an area of seven acres.

MANDAI ORCHID GARDEN
Known for more than 50 years, this famous orchid garden presents a diverse array of striking hybrids blossoming on the hillside.

Fort Canning Park and Mandai Orchid Garden are the other worth seeing parks there.

Besides the above mentioned, Singapore has a good number of gardens and parks that make good options for family outings. You yourself can explore them once you land here and visit the surrounding areas. Go to any garden or park; be sure that you will get to relax the best under cool shade of the trees or looking at the different varieties of flowers.
