ATTRACTIONS AT MACAU FISHERMAN’S WHARF
In order to attract more families to Macau, the idea of this theme-park was developed so that children and parents together can go to enjoy themselves. The construction of Macau Fisherman’s Wharf took around five years and then the wharf was finally opened on December 31, 2006. The park has many attractions that pull a huge number of crowds to Macau. The wharf can actually be divided in three major parts: Dynasty Wharf, East Meets West and Legend Wharf.
DYNASTY WHARF
Dynasty Wharf is that part where you will get to see traditional items and handicrafts speaking about Chinese history and culture. There are ‘jumbo’ seafood restaurants also. Then there is a Tang Dynasty Fortress but that attraction is not yet open to the public.
EAST MEETS WEST
East Meets West is the second themed ‘wharf’ that includes the following attractions.
Vulcania
It is a 40-m tall replica volcano that erupts every evening. The inside of the volcano has two rollercoaster rides namely the ‘River of Fire’ white-water and ‘Dragon Quest’ while the exterior of Vulcania has walkways styled on the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet.
Aladdin’s Fort
The attraction of this fort is that it is built in the style of a middle-eastern for. Home to variety of funfair rides, Aladdin’s Fort is a favourite among most children.
Roman Amphitheatre
Roman Amphitheatre is an outdoor Colosseum designed as a venue for concerts and other cultural performances. Aqua Romanis, a Roman-themed centre is the main destination for shopping here.
LEGEND WHARF
Built in the style of different world seaports like Cape Town, Amsterdam and Venice, the
Fisherman’s Wharf complex has several shops, hotels and restaurants. What if Fisherman’s Wharf is a theme park, how can it miss a casino which is the main attraction of Macau? Casino here is themed on coastal towns like Miami, New Orleans and the Italian Riviera. Besides casino, there is a slot hall, a 72-room hotel and six rides also to entertain you.
Vasco da Gama Waterworld is meant for water-based shows including four jet-ski stunt performances daily.
Fisherman’s Wharf is such a place that you should never miss during your stay in Macau, especially if you are there with family. Since there is no entry fee, you might like to visit this place again and again.
