Later a new Novel Hall (1997) was constructed, followed by the opening of Taipei Eye in 2002. Situated on a tree-lined boulevard namely Zhongshan North Road near the old center, Taipei Eye is quite convenient to reach.
DÉCOR AT TAIPEI EYE
Once you enter the spacious marble lobby of Taipei Eye, there is a short elevator that takes you to the three floors up auditorium. The décor at Taipei Eye walls is done with traditional red-paper cuttings accompanied by the photos of Chinese-opera performers and a huge lucky dragon head. In the corner, you find an elaborately carved Chinese puppet theater also.
Moreover, Taipei Eye holds regular shows on every Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., so the visitors who come here for a limited time can fix their other programs accordingly and enjoy the show on time. It is a real joy watching the show that presents a skillful and clever blend of Taiwanese aboriginal costumes and arts with several decidedly Chinese forms.
